چکیده
The current study investigated the toxicity of ethanol extract _Olea africana_ in mice and brine shrimp _(Artemia salina)_. Brine cytotoxicity acute were observed over 24 hours. Subacute was studied for 28 days using animal weight, organ-to-body weight ratio, hematological, biochemical histological parameters as indicators. Data analysis done Probit regression Two Way ANOVA _(p<0.05)_. lethal concentration responsible 50% mortality (LC50) 2257.84 µg/mL (702.97-7367.95), while dose (LD50) 4297.30 mg/kg. There no significant differences mean or ratio control treatment group mice. Some hematological extract-treated significantly different from Adverse histopathological changes including fibrosis around hepatic artery, degeneration hepatocytes, congestion, mild portal vein artery livers Perivascular infiltration, fibrosis, glomerular degeneration, tubular cell hemorrhage kidneys Given these findings, prolonged administration is associated with toxic concern. As a result, caution should be exercised when extract.

Iron Metallodrugs: Stability, Redox Activity and Toxicity against Artemia salina
Iron metallodrugs comprise mineral supplements, anti-hypertensive agents and, more recently, magnetic nanomaterials, with both therapeutic and diagnostic roles. As biologically-active metal compounds, concern has been raised regarding the impact of these compounds when emitted to the environment and associated ecotoxicological effects for the fauna. In this work we assessed the relative stabili...
متن کاملToxicity of benthic dinoflagellates on grazing, behavior and survival of the brine shrimp Artemia salina
Harmful algae may differently affect their primary grazers, causing sub-lethal effects and/or leading to their death. The present study aim to compare the effects of three toxic benthic dinoflagellates on clearance and grazing rates, behavioral changes, and survival of Artemia salina. Feeding assays consisted in 1-h incubations of brine shrimps with the toxic Prorocentrum lima, Gambierdiscus ex...

The production of compounds via enzymatic esterification has great scientific and technological interest due to the several inconveniences related to acid catalysis, mainly by these systems do not fit to the concept of "green chemistry". Besides, natural products as clove oil present compounds with excellent biological potential. Bioactives compounds are often toxic at high doses. The evaluatio...
متن کاملChronic toxicity bioassay with populations of the crustacean Artemia salina exposed to the organophosphate diazinon.
A chronic toxicity bioassay was conducted with the microcrustacean Artemia salina as the testing organism for the toxic organophosphate diazinon in order to determine if the species is an appropriate indicator of pollution in aquatic environments. Tests of animal exposure to different concentrations of the toxicant were performed for 24, 48 and 72 hours after larvae hatching. Registered mortali...
